Crew Members: AC WO1 EISENHOUR JAMES DOYLE KIA P MAJ FARMER GARRY H CE SP4 OLSON DWIGHTJ WIA War Story: This aircraft attempted to rescue a man they assumed was an American from a pick up zone. It turned out to be a trap wounding three of the four crew members. They were able to fly out of the PZ and landed on a nearby dirt road. Terry Morris on board #156 says that he removed Jim's lifeless body from the aircraft seat and carried it to the cargo deck of #156. (probably 66-15156) This is where JIm's journey home began. Check out the hole in the plexiglass on the AC side.That VC had time to come up out of the grass, take aim, and fire hitting Jim in the forehead resulting in his death. #156 is on display at Fort Rucker U.S. Army Aviation Museum.
